Customer Reviews:Clinton Carnegie (Wednesday, 13 April 2011)Rating: ![]() Using C dominant and its related parent minor as a core concept, Jay brings us through an assortment of ideas for generating hip dominant lines. Superimposed triads, sideslipping and various other inside/outside concepts are also covered and presented in an easy-to-understand manner. Most importantly, many of the licks are transcribed in the accompanying class materials in jpg format so you can print them out and work on them away from the computer. It would help to have a pencil and notepad handy to make notes as you watch this video. There's a wealth of great substitution ideas here! And did I mention that Jay's playing is absolutely killin'? Steven Arnold (Thursday, 24 February 2011) Rating: ![]() Jay has a lot of great ideas for playing over dominant chords including triads, side slipping and targeting chord tones.Everything is explained very clearly and with excellent examples. This is an excellent Masterclass. Darrell Loud (Thursday, 16 July 2009) Rating: ![]() This is a very well presented great class. Jay gives examples of linear and triadic phrases over dom7 chords all over the neck of the guitar. I highly recommend. Et must! John Bushong (Tuesday, 30 June 2009) Rating: ![]() This course covers the same material I am working on with my teacher. The concepts Jay provided augmented my regular lesson material in a very helpful way. Jay has a knack for explaining complex musical ideas in a way that enabled me to fit them into my own approach without that feeling of just copying someone else's ideas. He gives away everything. Very highly recommended. More... |
