Counterpoint Concepts

May 3, 2007 Saturday 3 PM
Sid Jacobs
Price per Unit (piece):

Join Sid Jacobs as he discusses counterpoint concepts.  Whether you are playing chord melody or single line, when you play with a bassist you are performing counterpoint. The science of harmony and voice-leading falls under the umbrella of counterpoint.  This class will focus on simple devices you can immediately employ in your playing and open the door for further exploration to take your playing either to the next level or in an entirely new direction.  Counterpoint applied to the Blues will also be covered.  There are eighteen pages of material Sid invites you to peruse before the class, so please come with questions!

This class can also be seen from Mike's booth at the Classic American Guitar Show!

"There aren't enough stars there for this class [Steve Herberman: Comping Concepts Part Two; 11/17/2008]!! Such great material so well presented, I just finished it, and I can't recommend it enough. I now have a ring binder of nothing but Mike's Masterclass material, and that, plus the stuff from David Oakes/Jimmy Wyble gives me all I need to get the ideas I have had but did not know how to express." - James S. - (Chicago, IL, USA)
